Violence planned on June 1st protest

Police and Military are preparing to prevent violence and chaos in Lagos.

TVC News Nigeria gives us a report on Commercial Motorcycle ban in Lagos.

The ban on commercial motorcycles in some parts of Lagos state will be enforced by the police and other security agencies from tomorrow. This ban is being put into effect in order to improve safety and security in the affected areas. Security operatives drove round the affected areas to warn residents of the impending enforcement. Tomorrow, any commercial motorcycles found operating in the affected areas will be confiscated and the operators will be arrested. This ban is necessary to improve safety and security in Lagos state. Police assure citizens not to be concerned as they have everything under control.

This is very good to protect lives and properties besides most of these okada riders are not Nigerian.

OMG, that shows that is a big problem in this country. Thank God for security operatives that has swang into action to curb this planned protect by the okada riders in Lagos.

OK but to ban okadas in that area is not a problem hope their is provision for work or skill to be acquired. Because why am saying this is because when their is no way or means to survive or earn a living it make some people think negative. Government should make provision for work please

Enforcing regulations other than a ban seem to be better. I mean, not like an alternative source of income have been provided for these guys or alternative mean of transport has been provided for perimeters bikes cover. I just feel the pros outweighs the cons, and providing regulations and enforcing it would have done the job.
