Tems announces release date for her much anticipated debut album.

Nigerian star, Tems rose to fame after collaboration on Wizkid’s “Essence” and has since worked with some of the biggest stars in world including Drake, Beyoncé and Rihanna. After two studio EPs, she is finally set to release her much-anticipated debut studio album. The album which is titled, “Born In The Wild” will be released later this year in May, including although the date is yet to be specified. Fans are expecting big names to make the album.

Nollywood thriller, “Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti set to hit the cinemas on May 17th.

Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti is one of Africa’s most epic female heroes. Despite being popular for being the first African woman to ride a car, she was notable for her feminism and fight against injustice. A new self-named biopic, directed by Bolanle Austen-Peters which is fully explore the life of the hero is set to be released in the cinemas. This biopic is set to take us through history lane, projecting her impact in the educational and social experiences of Nigerian women. This movie will feature star appearances from some of Nollywood’s greats including Kehinde Bankole, Adunni Ade, Jide Kosoko, Joke Silva and Dele Odule.

Davido opens up on his relationship with Wizkid and Burna Boy.

Wizkid, Burna Boy and Davido are presently the three biggest Afrobeats artists in Nigeria. The trio have successfully exported African cultures through their music to the global markets. However, their relationships have not being the smoothest, as they are mostly caught up in different beefs. Ahead of his Madison Square Garden concert, Davido has in fact opened up on his relationship with the two stars. In an interview on Sway’s Universe, the three-time Grammy nominee reveals that he does not communicate with the other two stars. Asked if they were the big three of African music, Davido responded with the popular Kendrick Lamar “Big me” phrase.

Hip Hop stars, Metro Boomin and Future are set to be on the road following their hugely successful joint projects, “We Don’t Trust You” and “We Still Don’t Trust You”. The albums have caused a major stir within the rap scene, especially with the Kendrick Lamar, A$AP Rocky and The Weeknd’s collaborations which looked to fire jabs at Drake and J. Cole. The We Don’t Trust You Tour will commence at the end of July and run through September and presale tickets will be available April 17th.
