Doja Cat becomes first black woman to headline Coachella since Beyonce.
American rapper, Doja Cat took the centre stage with her Coachella performance on Sunday, where she etched herself in the history books, becoming the second black woman after Beyonce (2018) to ever headline the Coachella Festival. Closing the three-day show, she opened her set with a sample of Madonna’s “Human Nature”, thrilling fans to numerous hit songs and also brought out 21 Savage, A$AP Rocky, Teezo Touchdown and acapella group, The Joy during her set. Fans have since taken to social media to express great appraisal for the rapper’s performance.

Gunna announces release of his fifth studio album, “One of Wun”.
Exciting times ahead for fans of star rapper, Gunna who has just announced that his fifth studio album will be released later this year. The four-time Grammy nominated rapper took to his Instagram to tease the album’s cover art with the caption, “One of Wun Album OTW”. This cover photo which shows his head wrapped in blue and white fabric, was created by Calvin Clausell Jr., with its creative direction by Spike Jordan. The new album will include released singles, “Bittersweet” and “Prada Dem” which features Offset.

CKay and Olamide to release collaboration, “Wahala” on Friday.
A year after Olamide’s “Trumpet” which features Afro-emo star, CKay, the duo are set to collaborate on a new single, “Wahala” which is set to be released on Friday. The “Love Nwantiti” singer announced this collaboration via his social media with a 20 second teaser which introduced fans to the vibey and melodious tune. Bella Shmurda announces new studio EP to be released this Friday.
Afrobeats star, Bella Shmurda has announced that he will release a new album in honour of his deceased friend and fellow musician, MohBad who tragically passed away last year. Bella has been one of the most vocal voices demanding justice for the dead singer. While the title of the EP is yet to be announced, newly released single, “Loner” which was also dedicated to MohBad is set to be the lead track for the upcoming EP.

Wizkid and Justin Bieber performs “Essence” on stage with Tems.
During Tems’ Sundays Coachella performance, the global RnB singer and fans likewise received a great surprise as both Wizkid and Justin Bieber joined her for the performance of their smash collaboration, “Essence”.
