Unwavering dedication to the country's development was shown with a new logo.

The Nigerian Economic Summit (NESG) upcoming event, named the 30th Nigerian Economic Summit (NES#30), will focus on the theme ‘In the National Interest: Reflecting on the Past, Reimagining the Future’. NESG recently launched a new logo for the event that epitomises its commitment to driving Nigeria’s economic growth. The logo unveiling took place during a public lecture and founder’s forum, which was a collaborative effort with the Lagos Business School (LBS). According to NESG chairman Mr. Niyi Yusuf, the new logo represents the organisation’s unwavering dedication to the country’s development.

Yusuf explained that the logo design includes different elements, such as three stars, which symbolise NESG’s thirty years of influential discussions that inspired economic changes, the presence of a Nigerian map inside a globe represents NESG’s belief in the power of local beginnings for impactful transformations, the lines extending from the map showcase NESG’s dedication to promoting international partnership and the Peach-coloured ribbon is meant to convey the festive spirit of the anniversary celebration, according to him.

He pointed out that every summit had played a key role in developing policies and strategies that are vital for overcoming obstacles to inclusive growth and international competitiveness. He emphasised how the audience could play a key role in these partnerships, empowering them to have a significant impact on shaping the economic future of Nigeria. The organisation has evolved into a leading platform for discussions and revolutionary economic advancements.

A new Nigeria with wisdom and intelligence should be envisioned.

During his address, Mr. Frank Aigbogun, representing Dr. Pascal Dozie at the NESG Advisory Board, emphasised that every aspect of Nigeria has been thoroughly analysed in the past. He acknowledged yesterday’s successes and failures behind, and it is essential for the current generation to learn from history without trying to recreate it. He emphasised the importance of envisioning a new Nigeria with wisdom, bravery, and intelligence, with a specific focus on political, economic, educational, and environmental transformations.

He emphasised the importance of using the summit as a platform to explore ways for Nigeria to broaden its economic scope beyond oil, create a welcoming business environment without issues, and establish essential infrastructure in a more cohesive and organised way instead of using fragmented strategies. In a special address, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State, highlighted that the theme calls for Nigerians to reflect on the past before looking towards the future, bridging the gap between what has been and what lies ahead.
