PL deducts two more Everton points for another FFP rule breach.

After a six point deduction penalty was carried out earlier this year, the Premier League has announced that another two points will be deducted from Everton’s total points after the Independent Commission found the club guilty of breaching the Profitability and Sustainability rules again. With this new deduction, Everton has now dropped to 16th on the league table with 27 points and merely 2 points off the relegation zone. The club has however vowed to appeal this penalty, which means the outcome of the relegation battle could be further pushed beyond the last game of the season.


Galatasaray clinches Turkish cup final after just one minute.

Sunday witnessed one of the strangest cup wins in football history, as Galatasaray defeated rival, Fenerbahçe to win the Turkish Cup after just playing a minute of football. What was expected to be an intense and fiery matchup did not even last long. The final which was first scheduled to hold in August 2023 was postponed multiple times. Fenerbahçe however sent their youth side to the finals and after Mauro Icardi’s first minute goal, the under 19s walked out of the pitch. This move was reportedly orchestrated to protest the Turkish FA’s handling of fan violence that erupted last month against Trabzonspor. Automatically, Galatasaray has been crowned the Turkish cup winner.


South Carolina defeats Iowa to win the NCAA National Championship.

The Gamecocks capped off an incredibly unbeaten season by defeating Iowa to clinch their third National title, avenging last year’s disappointing loss in the final four game which ended their unbeaten streak. In the 87-75 win, South Carolina had four players in double figure points, including Kamilla Cardoso who had 15 points and 17 rebounds and Tessa Johnson, with 19 points. Iowa star, Caitlin Clark also showed up despite the loss, scoring 30 points in 10 of 28 shooting. South Carolina becomes the first side since 2016 to win the National Championship with an unbeaten record.


The Milwaukee Bucks officially secure a spot in the 2024 NBA Playoffs.

Despite experiencing a bad run of games lately, the Milwaukee Bucks have clinched a place in the 2024 NBA playoffs. Currently the second seed in the Eastern conference, the Bucks have a 47-31 record, with four consecutive losses to the Memphis Grizzlies, Washington Wizards, Toronto Raptors and Atlanta Hawks. Losses to Orlando Magics and Miami Heat yesterday means that the Bucks now have a guaranteed spot in the playoffs which is set to commence in April 17. The 2022 NBA champions will be looking to regain their form ahead of the coming playoffs.


Arsenal star, Gabriel Jesus comments on his recent lack of form.

Although Arsenal are in contention to win their first Premier League title in two decades, fans have clamoured their need for a new prolific striker, due to Gabriel Jesus’ inconsistencies. The Brazilian who moved to Arsenal from Manchester City has been unable to replicate his City form due to consistent injuries. The striker has now just opened up on his lack of form. Speaking to journalists ahead of UCL quarter final clash against Bayern Munich, Jesus alluded his lack of form to his fitness, stating that he has played most games with pain.
