Dangote assures usage of Nigeria’s raw material

He said the Trade Fair’s theme, ‘Boosting Economic Growth with Business Links, Trade, and Investments’, aligns with the Group’s core focus on local manufacturing of goods using Nigeria’s rich raw materials instead of importing. The group investments in various sectors aim to add value to these raw materials and convert them into high-quality finished products. It aims to establish connections across various industries to enhance economic growth and encourage reverse integration. Ultimately, all focus is on advancing industrialization as a crucial factor in expanding economic diversification, he added.

Mabogunje emphasized DIL’s dedication to establishing connections that span the entire economy and encourage backward integration. He highlighted DIL’s consistent presence at key trade shows nationwide as a way to showcase its support for Chambers of Commerce and Industry in driving economic growth through their initiatives. According to him, DIL stands out as the premier homegrown conglomerate in Africa, involved in a variety of sectors such as cement, sugar, salt, plastic products, property development, farming, transportation, telecommunications, steel, and the oil and gas industry.

By utilizing its various subsidiaries, the Group has successfully created employment opportunities for countless individuals in Nigeria. The ultimate goal of the company is to promote self-reliance in all sectors within the country. DIL food subsidiaries, Dangote Sugar Refinery, NASCON Allied Industries (Dangote Salt), and Dangote Rice are actively contributing to job creation through diverse initiatives. Through implementation of out-grower and backward integration programs, Dangote Sugar Refinery has created employment opportunities for numerous farmers residing in the local communities.
