The Philadelphia Sixers’ point guard, Tyrese Maxey has won the 2023/2024 NBA Most Improved player award. In his 4th season, the All-star set career highs across his season’s stats, averaging 25.9 points, 6.2 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game — all these without the team’s best player, Joel Embiid. In an extremely close vote, Maxey finished with 319 total points while Chicago Bulls’ star, Coby White and the Houston Rockets’ star, Alperen Şengün finished 2nd and 3rd with 305 and 92 votes respectively.


Kai Havertz scores twice as Arsenal rampantly defeats Chelsea.

After a rough week of a painful Champions League elimination and surprising loss to Aston Villa, Arsenal are back up and blazing again. Two teenage Premier League players have been arrested on suspension of rape.

Emerging reports suggest that two teenage Premier League players are presently in custody due to alleged cases of rape and assault reported over the weekend. The unnamed players have now been released and will be pending further investigations. The players’ club have not made any official statement on the cases or arrest, as the matter is now in the hands of the police. This joins a long list of rape allegations against Premier League players including Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood and City’s Benjamin Mendy who has now been cleared of all charges.


Olivier Giroud signs with MLS side, Los Angeles FC on a free transfer.

Former Chelsea and Arsenal striker, Olivier Giroud has just signed with MLS side, Los Angeles FC and will join the club from mid-July until December 2025 as a designated player. After a long period of negotiating with LAFC and other clubs in Saudi Arabia and Europe, the French striker decided to choose Los Angeles, signing a contract worth €3 million a year. He will join fellow 2018 World Cup winner, Hugo Lloris at the club in the winter transfer window.


Ralf Rangnick confirms contact with Bayern Munich for managerial role.

With Thomas Tuchel set to leave the club at the end of the season, Bayern Munich are expanding their search for a new manager. The club has been in contact with German coach, Julian Nagelsmann and Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso. Former Manchester United coach, Ralf Rangnick has just confirmed Bayern Munich contacts to sources. Rangnick who is presently the head coach of Austria national team stated that despite the contact with the Bundesliga giant, his focus was solely on Austria and the upcoming Euros. Bayern Munich will be looking to conclude their managerial search before the end of the upcoming Euro 2024.
