Court officially slam Quincy Promes a 6-year sentence for smuggling.

Former Ajax forward, Quincy Promes has been sentenced to six years in prison by a court in Netherlands for his involvement in a smuggling operation of 1,350kg of cocaine. Accused of his involvement in two shipments of cocaine into the Belgian port, the prosecutors recommended a nine-year sentence but the court ruled this out, based on their request and relying on previous cases with harsh penalties. Promes was absent from the hearing which took place on January 24, staying in Russia to continue playing for Spartak Moscow.


Trent Alexander-Arnold to be ruled out again after aggravated knee injury.

Liverpool full back, Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to miss games for an extended period, including Carabao Cup final against Chelsea later this month after an aggravated knee injury in Liverpool’s 3-1 win against Burnley on Saturday. He was forced off at halftime after complaining about pains in the same area where he suffered a lateral ligament tear in their FA cup win over Arsenal. The club’s medical team are presently working to determine the timeframe for the injury but he will be greatly missed in the Carabao Cup final.


Manchester City edge towards CL quarter finals after Copenhagen win.

Current Champions League champion, Manchester looks to be coasting to another quarter final round, after a commanding away win against Copenhagen. Kevin De Bruyne continued his spectacular form with a beautiful goal to give City an early lead in the 10th minute. However, Magnus Mattson equalized in the 34th minute, his debut goal after joining the club ten days ago. Bernardo Silva gave Manchester the lead again in the 45th minute before Foden sealed the game with a comfortable finish to give City a two-goal advantage ahead of the second leg.


Dan Ashworth to leave Newcastle and join Manchester United’s project.

Since Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s 25% acquisition of Manchester United, notable changes have been incurred as the club gets ready for a much-needed structural rebuild. One of the major changes is the inaugural sporting director role at the club. Reports are indicating that Manchester United is prepared to make a formal bid for Newcastle’s current sporting director, Dan Ashworth who is privately open to the opportunity of joining the club. Ashworth has spearheaded some incredible signings including Cucurella, Mitoma, Caicedo and Mac Allister for Brighton and Isak, Gordon, Barnes and Livramento for Newcastle. Manchester United’s fans are hugely excited about the prospect of having football heads like Ashworth at the helm of the club’s transfers.
