Caitlin Clark passes Pete Maravich as NCAA’s all time leading scorer.

Iowa point guard, Caitlin Clark is one of the biggest prospects in America’s college basketball, best known for her fashionable 3 point shooting and has been tipped to make a big bang in the WNBA. On Sunday, she broke Pete Mavarich’s 54-year old record to become the all time leading scorer in the National College Athletic Association (NCAA) Division 1 (men and women). She entered Sunday’s game needing 18 points to surpass the record and sunk down two free throws to take her NCAA career points to 3,668. Caitlin has decided to forgo her final year college eligibility and would enter the 2024 WNBA draft and is projected to be the number one pick by the Indiana Fever.


Jusuf Nurkic makes franchise history in Phoenix Suns’ loss to the Thunders.

The Phoenix Suns’ centre, Jusuf Nurkic was claiming all boards in their 118-110 loss to the Western Conference first seed, Oklahoma City Thunders. The Bosnian international finished the game with a career high 31 rebounds, claiming 13 offensive rebounds and 18 defensive rebounds. With this, Nurkic makes new record with the Phoenix Suns, recording the most rebounds in a game in the franchise’s history. The 31 rebounds is also the most by an NBA player since the 2010-2011 NBA season.


Manchester United lose for the first time after leading at half time.

Sunday’s Manchester Derby started off on the right track for Manchester United as Marcus Rashford fired home one of the best goals of the season in the eighth minute. Showing defensive compactness, United were able to ward off City’s numerous attempts in the first half, whilst also missing some big chances. The second half however saw a different United side, letting down their guards. Manchester City’s attacker, Phil Foden took advantage, scoring a second half brace and Haaland sealed the game, taking his PL goal tally to 18 for the season, slotting home Rodri’s pass in the 91st minute. For the first time in the last 144 PL games, Manchester United have lost a game despite leading at half time.


Messi and Suarez shine as Inter Miami breezes past Orlando City.

Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez brought back their old connection to inspire Inter Miami to a 5-0 win over Orlando City. Suarez opened the scoring early, securing a brace in the first 11 minutes of the game and winger Robert Taylor added a third in the 29th minute. Lionel Messi took over the second half, scoring his own brace in the 57th and 62nd minutes. Inter Miami presently lead the Major Soccer League table with seven points.


Barcelona suffer double injury blow in clash against Athletic Bilbao.

Xavi Hernandez’s side suffered a double heartbreak in a draw against Athletic Bilbao on Sunday. Despite Real Madrid and Girona dropping points respectively, Barcelona were unable to take advantage while also losing two of their most prolific midfielders, Frenkie de Jong and Pedri to crucial injuries. Frenkie, who has just been confirmed to have suffered a Lateral Ligament Sprain, had to be wheeled off the pitch and Pedri was visibly devastated. He has also been confirmed to have sustained a right quadriceps injury and both midfielders will be out for at least a month.
