Lagos hosts Energise-First Career Fair for Clean Energy Sector.

The Federal Minister of Power, Mr. Abubakar Aliyu, has stated that the country’s growing renewable energy and efficiency sector is in need of a high number of skilled workers to support the increasing demand. He spoke of this at the “Energise-First Career Fair for Clean Energy Sector” in Lagos on April 5, 2022. The Minister noted that the clean energy sector is one of the fastest growing industries in the world, and that Nigeria is well positioned to take advantage of this growth. However, he cautioned that the country will need to produce a large number of skilled workers to meet the demand.

This Energise-First Career Fair for Clean Energy Sector is an initiative of the Nigerian government that aims to provide opportunities for young people to enter the clean energy sector. The initiative includes a career fair, which will provide information on various careers in the clean energy sector, as well as training and mentorship opportunities. The initiative is part of the Nigerian government’s commitment to promoting sustainable development and combating climate change.

Focus is on developing wind and solar energy projects.

The fair was a resounding success, hosting over 25 companies from a plethora of sectors. This event was a great opportunity for professionals to network and advance their careers. The fair was very well organized and provided an outstanding platform for companies to showcase their products and services. The variety of companies in attendance lent the fair an air of excitement, and the networking opportunities available were invaluable. All in all, the Energise-First fair was a great success and provided a great service to both companies and individuals alike.

Renewable energy is energy collected from the earth’s natural resources, such as Solar, Wind, Hydroelectric, Geothermal, Biomass, and Tidal. These are alternates to traditional fossil fuels and are much more environmentally friendly. Renewal energy is a sustainable source of energy that can be used to power homes, businesses, and communities. It is a clean and renewable resource that does not emit harmful greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. There is currently no access to Tidal and Geothermal energy, but there is significant potential for development in these areas. With many policies and initiatives being developed, there is a focus on developing Wind and Solar energy projects throughout the country.

Clean and renewable source of energy.

Solar power is the conversion of sunlight into electricity, either directly using photovoltaics (PV), or indirectly using concentrated solar power (CSP). Concentrated solar power systems use lenses or mirrors and tracking systems to focus a large area of sunlight into a small beam. Photovoltaics convert light into electric current using the photovoltaic effect. The vast majority of solar power generated today is used to power homes and businesses. However, solar power can also be used to heat water or to produce steam that can drive turbines to generate electricity. Solar power is a clean and renewable source of energy that can help to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels and combat climate change.

Wind power is a method of energy generation that involves harnessing the power of the wind to generate electricity. There are several different ways to generate wind power, including wind farms, single wind turbines, and utility scale wind power. Wind farms are commercial operations that use wind-powered turbines to generate electricity. These can be provided to different organizations, such as businesses or households. Single wind turbines are smaller than those used in wind farms, and are typically used to supplement existing energy sources, such as coal or nuclear power. Utility scale wind power is generated by large turbines that are contracted out or sold in wholesale quantities.

Solar panels only convert about 10-15% of the energy.

Wind turbine power is not always dependable, however. The amount of power that a wind turbine can generate depends on the strength of the wind, and the wind is not always blowing at a constant speed. This means that the amount of power that a wind turbine can generate can vary greatly from day to day, or even hour to hour. This variability can make it difficult to rely on wind turbine power as a sole source of energy. Solar power is considered a dependable energy source because it is not subject to the fluctuations that can occur with wind turbines. However, there are some drawbacks to solar power. Solar power is not available at night, and it can be affected by weather conditions, such as clouds. Solar panels only convert about 10-15% of the energy they receive from the sun into electricity. This means that a lot of the energy is lost as heat.
