An international humanitarian with aim of curbing bad governance - Sani.

Yabagi Yusuf Sani, generally referred to as YYSani or Jakardan Nupe, which translates to “Ambassador of Nupe,” is a Nigerian politician, energy and oil enthusiast, as well as the present National Chairman of the Action Democratic Party (ADP). Sani was born in Bida on July 1, 1957; his father held the title of Ciroman Samarin Nupe. In 1961, he attended East School Bida, followed by Technical college in Kontagora in 1970. In 1976, he received a degree from Harvard University and the Institute of Technology, New York. 1978 also saw his graduation from Columbia University, New York, with a Bachelor of Science in management engineering.

In 1980, he began his career in the oil industry, working for Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation as an administrative officer and depot chief at PPMC Depot Kano. In 1991, Sani made his political appearance. He went on to become a founding member and board trustee for the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) (ANP). Sani was the All Peoples Party’s (APP) candidate for governor of Niger State in 1999. Previously serving as the North Central presidential coordinator under Alhaji Bashir Tofa throughout 1993 and as the financial secretary of the former-Nigeria Liberal Convention (NLC/NRC). Yabagi was also chosen to run for president of Nigeria on the ticket of the Action Democratic Party (Nigeria) in the nation’s general election that took place in 2019.

His outstanding performance earned him a good transition.

Following Dr. Leonard Nzenwa’s retirement as national chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in 2021, Engr. Yabagi Yusuf Sani ascended to the position. Alhaji Yusuf Dantalle of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) was chosen National Secretary, and Mgbudem Maxwell of the Accord Party (AP) was voted as the Council Deputy National Chairman. On May 31, 2022, in Abuja, during the ADP Special National Convention, Sani was officially endorsed as the party’s candidate for president. According to Mr. Tasiru Abdulrahman, the Chairman of the ADP Electoral Panel, Sani was selected by process of consensus. He was selected after a thorough screening process, and he was found to be in compliance with all standards for the 2023 presidential election.

Furthermore, while talking to journalists in Abuja, he revealed the composition of his presidential campaign board and also presented a sorry state of Nigerian life under the Muhammadu Buhari administration and those that came before it. He claimed that Nigeria’s current status as the world’s poverty capital and one of the three main insecurity hubs is a direct result of the havoc wreaked upon the country in a relatively short period of time by corrupt leadership. He promised that if elected, the country’s human and economic resources would be used to improve the standard of life for all Nigerians, and he made a pact with the people of Nigeria that the administration would be guided by the rule of law at both the federal and state levels.

Sani promises accountability in a quest to advance the country.

Campaigning for the 2023 election, Sani promised to follow the principles of probity and accountability in administration if he were to be elected. The North Central Peoples Forum (NCPF) had just endorsed him. Sani, along with his running companion Dr. Okey Okoro Udo and many other top party leaders, promised to enhance the socioeconomic life of the citizens if victorious. The ADP’s media adviser, Ben Atonko, reported that the candidate had said that the North Central region deserved to be president because it would be more fair. Chief Gabriel Aduku, head of the North Central Peoples Forum (NCPF), explained that Sani was chosen because of his demonstrated record and political struggle for the revival of representative governance.

Speaking on the state of security in Nigeria, Engr Sani recently told reporters that he believes the problem is exaggerated. Sani, who also serves as national chairman of IPAC, stated that Nigeria’s military’s ability to defeat the militants shows that the issue is either politicized or not being handled properly. To inspire military officers to end insurrection, he promised improved welfare. Nigeria’s security leaders should be replaced if they can’t boost morale. He promised to halt crude oil theft, which has cost Nigeria billions, to fund insecurity litigation if he becomes president. Equipment will be affordable. He added that they would be active when they receive training, retraining, and welfare benefits.

International awards were given for Sani’s humanitarian work.

Moreover, Engr. Sani was given the prestigious UN Humanitarian Award on September 13, 2018, at the UN Headquarters in New York, USA, because of his work to improve social, economic, and political life in Africa. Also, on September 14, 2018, a member of the USA Congress, Honourable Donald M. Payne, Jr., gave Engr Yabagi Y. Sani a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition for his Humanitarian Award from the UN. Also, the Senate and General Assembly of New Jersey gave Engr YY Sani a Citation and Commendations of Praise on August 30, 2018, for coming up with new ideas for outstanding governance in Africa. More importantly, he was in the UK to talk about working together with the United Kingdom Conservative Party, which has shown interest in using Nigeria’s Action Democratic Party (ADP) as a strategic Party to incorporate in Africa.

I think the candidate of ADP should just join forces with other political parties to form a third force party. This third force, united with Peter Obi will be able to wrestle power from both PDP and APC.

One of the problems of this country is choosing leaders who are not academically sound or nepotistic to handle the nation. We need people like Yabagi Yusuf Sani who can run the nation but he might be limited in politicking and as such might not be able to curb bad governance and corruption.

It’s crazy that he was chosen for the presidential election of 2023 after going through such a rigorous screening process, and it was discovered that he was in compliance with all of the rules.

In order to put an end to the theft of crude oil, which has cost Nigeria billions of dollars, to fund lawsuits against insecurity if he is elected president. The cost of the equipment will be reasonable.

To avoid waste of time and money,
I will advice…all this minority parties should give support to or even partner with strong parties that are firm and well known and in the country. With that, they have hope of a least achieving something in the upcoming election.

He as a good intention to curb bad governance while other candidate also has good intention also but what matter is will they do what they say they will do and capable to do it, because candidates always sweet mouth people whenever they are campaigning in other to get the post and later when get there they drop their promise and good will to help the country

Sani may have noble intentions to fight corruption and terrible governance in the country, but keep in mind that individuals who are elected to other posts may have other goals in mind. To handle such a circumstance, one must be politically knowledgeable.
