Ademola Lookman shines as Atalanta defeats Bayer Leverkusen in the UEL final.

Bayer Leverkusen’s 51-game unbeaten run came to a close yesterday as Nigerian forward, Ademola Lookman led Atalanta to a stunning 3-0 victory in the UEFA Europa League final. Lookman opened the scoring with a perfect back-post finish in the 12th minute before adding a second with a beautiful curler from outside the box 14 minutes later. He however wrapped up his hattrick with a left-footed shot in the box, securing Atalanta’s first ever European trophy and Gian Piero Gasperini’s first ever title. Ademola Lookman’s hat trick is the sixth in the final of a UEFA competition and the first in 45 years.


Talks between Bayern Munich and Vincent Kompany currently progressing.

On Monday, sources confirmed that Bayern Munich was in contact with Belgian coach, Vincent Kompany to replace Thomas Tuchel as the club’s new manager. Unfolding reports from Germany are now suggesting that talks between both parties are presently progressing, as Kompany is keen on the possibility of the move. Bayern’s supervisory board will have to approve his appointment before any other step is taken. Vincent Kompany led Burnley to top flight football last season but has unfortunately been relegated from the Premier League, finishing 19th in the league with 24 points.


Norwich release 19 players after failing to secure a PL promotion.

Upon failing to secure a promotion to the Premier League, Norwich City has taken a tough decision to release 19 of its players. The Canaries were 6th in the Championship but all their hopes for a potential promotion was destroyed after Leeds United’s heavy 4-0 defeat in the Playoffs. Some of the released players include Danny Batth, who only spent one year at the club, Dimitris Giannoulis, Jon McCracken, Sam McCallum, Sydney van Hooijdonk and 11 other players from the under-21 squad.


TNT’s “Inside The NBA” show to mark its final run in the 2024/2025 season.

Perhaps the most exciting NBA show, “Inside The NBA” which features basketball legends, Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny Smith, Charles Barkley and award-winning presenter, Ernie Johnson, is set to end next season with NBC closing on a deal to take over TNT’s “B” package for a whooping $2.6 million annually. According to reports, the NBA is expected to formalize contracts with Disney (owners of ESPN), NBC and Amazon for new TV rights which will commence from the 2025/2026 season.


The Dallas Mavericks and Boston Celtics take Game 1 in Conference finals.

The NBA conference finals are finally underway after mind blowing semi final performances. The Boston Celtics secured a narrow 133-128 overtime win against the Indiana Pacers in the Western Conference final on Tuesday. Jayson Tatum showed up, leading the game in both points (36) and rebounds (12). Tyrese Haliburton also had a good performance with 25 points, 10 assists. The two teams meet again tomorrow at the TD Garden. In the Eastern Conference, Luka Dončić and Kyrie Irving scored 33 and 30 points respectively to lead the Dallas Mavericks to another tight 108-105 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday. Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns were quiet in this game, after their game 7 performance against the defending champions, the Denver Nuggets. The Timberwolves will be looking to take game 2 when they face each other on Friday.
