Ademola Lookman shines as Atalanta defeats Bayer Leverkusen in the UEL final.
Bayer Leverkusen’s 51-game unbeaten run came to a close yesterday as Nigerian forward, Ademola Lookman led Atalanta to a stunning 3-0 victory in the UEFA Europa League final. Lookman opened the scoring with a perfect back-post finish in the 12th minute before adding a second with a beautiful curler from outside the box 14 minutes later. He however wrapped up his hattrick with a left-footed shot in the box, securing Atalanta’s first ever European trophy and Gian Piero Gasperini’s first ever title. Ademola Lookman’s hat trick is the sixth in the final of a UEFA competition and the first in 45 years.
