The NFF set to appoint Emmanuel Amunike as new Super Eagles’ coach.

After a heartbreaking AFCON 2023 final loss, the Nigeria Football Federation decided to part ways with José Peseiro, appointing Finidi George as an interim coach. According to new reports, the NFF has decided to appoint Emmanuel Amunike as the new head coach of the Super Eagles. The former Sporting Lisbon forward was prosperous as Nigeria’s under-17 coach, leading the Golden Eaglets to victory in the 2015 Under-17 World Cup. He went on to coach the Tanzanian National team, helping them qualify for their first AFCON in 2019, the first time in forty years. Although still unofficial, sources believe that the NFF will officially announce him as the Super Eagles’ head coach in coming days.
