Suspected bandit leader has been arrested

In Zamfara State, a 54 year old and two others have been accused and charged.

TVC News Nigeria gives us a report on police operations in Zamfara.

The Zamfara Police Command has arrested a 54-year-old man on suspicion of cattle rustling and trafficking stolen animals in different parts of the state. According to a press statement issued by the police spokesperson Mohammed Shehu, the arrest was made following an intelligence report received by the police. Two suspected bandit collaborators were arrested in a filling station located along GarejinMailena – Wanke Road in Gusau, the state capital. The suspects were found to be in possession of several stolen animals, which they were attempting to sell. The 54-year-old man is believed to be the leader of a larger network of cattle rustlers and traffickers operating in the state.
