Nigeria, South Africa force partner in security

Gen. Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, emphasized the need to strengthen the relationship between the Armed Forces of Nigeria and the South African National Defence Force in order to tackle the various Security issues plaguing Africa. This message was conveyed during his visit to Gen. Rudzani Maphwanya, the Chief of the South Africa National Defence Force (SANDF), in Pretoria, South Africa. In Abuja, Brig.-Gen. Tukur Gusau, the Acting Director of Defence Information, made a statement regarding the matter.

The Chief of Defence Staff referred to the meeting as a solution for tackling the numerous difficulties plaguing the continent, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and strengthening of bilateral relationships. He mentioned that the private discussion with his South African personnel primarily concentrated on strategies to handle security issues in the region. His opinion was that enhancing collaboration between the two nations was crucial for advancement. Gusau announced that a Cannon Gun Salute was given to the Nigerian defence head as a sign of respect during the visit.

He mentioned that in attendance at the meeting were the top officials from various departments within the SANDF, including Intelligence, Policy and Plans, International Affairs, and Joint Operations chiefs.
