Victor Osimhen scores in back-to-back games for Napoli since return.
Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen is back to helping his team after a month out representing Nigeria at the 2023 African Cup of Nations’ tournament. Napoli won only three of their seven games within this span. In Osimhen’s return game, he scored an important second half goal against Barcelona to help Napoli secure a 1-1 draw in the Champions League Ro16 first leg. In today’s 1-1 draw against Cagliari, Osimhen headed home his eight Serie A goal of the season. However, Napoli was unable to secure a win, after conceding a last minute penalty which was perfectly slotted home by Luvumbo.

Virgil van Dijk header propels Liverpool to 10th Carabao Cup win.
Injury-ridden Liverpool side has defeated Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final despite being without first team players like Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez. Liverpool also suffered another injury blow as midfielder, Ryan Gravenberch also stretched out after an horrific tackle from Caicedo. Club captain, Virgil van Dijk however came up clutch, scoring a crucial header with two minutes left in the extra time to help Liverpool win their tenth Carabao Cup title. With this loss, Chelsea becomes the first club to lose six straight league cup titles.

Erik ten Hag comments on Antony’s consecutive omission from the team.
Manchester United signed Brazilian forward, Antony from Ajax for a huge €100 million fee and since his arrival, he has been underwhelming. With no goal in 22 appearances this season, Antony has been dropped from the team, with youngsters like Garnacho, Amad Diallo and Omari Forson up the ladder. In Fulham’s 2-1 loss, Antony was substituted in seconds before the game ended and asked about his decision to drop the €100 million signing, Erik ten Hag stated that there were presently better options than him whilst also encouraging him to step up his performances.

One of the best teams across Europe, Arsenal, has over the last season, consistently been playing great football and competing for titles. The North London side has continued with their strides this season, scoring goals and winning games.
