Dani Alves sentenced to 4 years in prison for sexual assault.

Ex-Barcelona player, Dani Alves has been convicted of sexually assaulting a woman in a Barcelona night club on new years eve in 2022. The 40-year old right back had been in custody since January 2023, with the court vehemently denying him bail, as he was considered a flight risk to Brazil, where citizens are not extradited when sentenced in other countries. The sentence includes five years of supervised release and no communication with the victim for nine years and six months. In addition to his four years and six months sentence, the Brazilian has also been instructed to pay a legal cost of £150,000 to the victim.


Toni Kroos to return to the German national team ahead of 2024 Euros.

Real Madrid midfielder, Toni Kroos is set to return to the German national team, three years after retiring from international football. The 34-year old German who retired in 2021, had earlier disclosed that he was considering re-joining the national team before the 2024 Euros which is set to be hosted in Germany. He however took to social media to announce his return to the team with the caption, “Guys, short and painless, I will play for Germany again from March.” Kroos made 106 appearances for Germany, scoring 17 goals and winning the 2014 World Cup.


Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang becomes UEFA Europa League all-time top scorer.

Gabon and Marseille striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has just etched his name in the UEFA history books. In Marseille’s 3-1 win against Shakhtar Donetsk on Thursday evening, Aubameyang opened the goal scoring in the 23rd minute to become the leading goal scorer of all times in the UEFA Europa League tournament with 31 goals. Prior to this goal, he was tied with ex-Manchester United and Atletico Madrid striker, Radamel Falcao at 30 goals. The striker played across Arsenal, Barcelona, Chelsea and now Marseille to make this record.


Jokic joins Westbrook and Lebron for incredible NBA triple-double record.

Two-time NBA MVP, Nikola Jokic was unplayable in Denver Nuggets’ 130-120 win over the Washington Wizards last night, recording his 16th triple double of the season and 121st of his beautiful career. With a 21 points, 19 rebounds and 15 assists stat line, he has now joined NBA Hall of Famers, Russell Westbrook and Lebron James as the only NBA players to record a triple double against every team in the NBA. Jokic, who led the Nuggets to the NBA Championships last season, will be looking to propel a title defence.


Omari Forson set to make debut start in the Premier League in Fulham clash.

Manchester United’s coach, Erik ten Hag is set to give promising winger, Omari Forson his first Premier League start in Saturday’s game versus Fulham. Rasmus Højlund was reported to have suffered a muscle injury in training today and will be out for two weeks. Inside reports from the club have suggested that Erik ten Hag rates Forson highly for his skill set and potential and would prefer to start him over Amad Diallo and Antony.
