Dani Alves sentenced to 4 years in prison for sexual assault.
Ex-Barcelona player, Dani Alves has been convicted of sexually assaulting a woman in a Barcelona night club on new years eve in 2022. The 40-year old right back had been in custody since January 2023, with the court vehemently denying him bail, as he was considered a flight risk to Brazil, where citizens are not extradited when sentenced in other countries. The sentence includes five years of supervised release and no communication with the victim for nine years and six months. In addition to his four years and six months sentence, the Brazilian has also been instructed to pay a legal cost of £150,000 to the victim.
