NCAA set to introduce new tournament from next season with NIL pay out deals.

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) is set to introduce a new tournament which will take the form of the NBA’s in-season tournament. According to reports, the new tournament is expected to offer close to $2 million in NIL deals to the teams participating. The 8 teams will receive $1 million split among the players on each team with the remaining $1 million awarded to the winning team. Some of the team in talks to participate in the tournament include Duke, Alabama, Florida Atlantic, Houston, Kansas, San Diego, Rutgers and Oregon.


Rudy Gobert suggests sports betting has influenced NBA refereeing.

The NBA is being faced with a plethora of bad refereeing situations lately, raising questions among both players and fans. Former NBA defensive player of the year, Rudy Gobert is the latest to criticize the erratic refereeing that has ravaged the league. The Minnesota Timberwolves’ centre has insisted that sport betting has hugely influenced the NBA’s refereeing which is inadvertently hurting the game. Although fans seem to agree with Gobert’s opinion, he has reportedly been fined $100,000 for this comment towards the league officials.


Brahim Diaz switches nationality to Morocco after Spain wait.

Real Madrid youngster, Brahim Diaz has decided to switch teams and play for Morocco instead after constant wait for Spain’s call up. The attacker, who has been tipped to have a great career at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, has come up clutch for Real Madrid this season, scoring eight goals and four assists for Madrid. This is definitely a good move for both the player and Morocco, who will be looking to bounce back from the AFCON 2023 heartbreak. The Moroccan national team has been informed and the move will be made official soon.


Liverpool move to second place after 1-1 draw against Manchester City.

Title contenders, Liverpool and Manchester City faced off in huge title-deciding match on Sunday, thrilling fans to one of the most exciting PL game of the season. Manchester City took an early lead in the 23rd minute with John Stones finishing off a quick corner. Liverpool however equalized in the 50th minute, as Alexis Mac Allister perfectly converted a penalty kick. Liverpool looked to have secured another penalty after Doku’s challenge on Mac Allister late in the game but VAR overlooked it, sealing a 1-1 draw. Liverpool now move to second, with the same points with Arsenal while Manchester City trail by one point.


Amad Diallo deletes all Man. United related posts on his social media.

Manchester United invested a whopping €37 million on Atlanta youngster, Amad Diallo in 2021. Since signing the Ivory Coast international, he has failed to stamp his place in the first team. Loaned out to Sunderland last season, he amazed fans with his great ability, helping the team secure a top spot in the Championship while also winning the EFL Young player of the year award. Returning to Manchester United this season, he has again seen a drastic reduction in his playing time, playing only 27 minutes of football since January. The attacker is now reportedly frustrated and has deleted all United related posts on his socials. He will be looking to force a move this upcoming summer.
