Anything to curb the menace of banditry is a welcome idea because their operations has been so drastic in all ramifications.

Motorcycles are commonly used for committing crimes, like killing, stealing and pickpocketing so banning the distribution and use of it will not be a bad idea

Anything that threatens the security of a nation should be banned . Bandits are really taking advantage of this mining activity so they government should try to suppress its activities for now.

I can’t believe this bandits are now using mining activities to finance their criminal activities, this is meant to be source of revenue to this country. The government should minimize mining activities for now and also ensure the mining spots are fully guarded.

Have they created alternative for bikes? How do people get to their houses from bus-stops? If these bad guys begin to pull up in cars after the ban, will they ban cars too? You’re trying to combat insecurity, yet you want to drastically increase the unemployed population. Wow, such an intelligent idea. Combat the brains behind the insecurity, not the means of transport. Did they even weigh the pros and cons of bike. We are not ready in this country.

This a good plan by the Federal government. Although it’s important they provide alternative jobs for people especially as a result of those who drive motorcycles. This will help fight against Insecurity to an extent. Also, if the people out of jobs do not find a new job to do, they might resort commiting crime and causing nuisance in the society. The government should be proactive on this better.

There is no debate on that the Government has failed us in keeping us safe and safeguarding the country. There are other things that can be done to improve security in the country, banning motorcycle we only make things worse for those earning there living from it.

This is a good idea finally. Long overdue in stopping illegal mining and motorcycle in regions not needed. Motorcycle are used to commit crimes in some regions in the country, it allows them access to where vehicles or trucks can’t reach when being pursued by authority. Illegal mining site are not just dangerous to the community around it but also to the people working it. Without regulated safety procedure it could be a death trap.

The government have given reason for stopping the illegal mining and also the commercial motorcycle from Nigeria we were told it for the safety of the country and to think of it actually good but people with the motorcycle how do they survive and the people in the illegal mining it bad for them also

Motorcycles provide transportation for terrorists, while mining is their source of funds for purchasing arms, so I support this ban and hope it gets enacted.

It is a really good idea to prohibit the use of motorbikes and mining activities since this would reduce the amount of logistical support that can be provided to terrorist organisations.

Banning motorcycle without providing alternative job for those that use it for commercial business will only hike the rate of unemployment more in the country and create more problem. Insecurity can’t be combat just by putting ban on Motorcycle our government needs to put out real action.

Sadly, we’ve left the real issue and we are chasing shadow.

Nothing to prove that those bandits only ride motorcycles and not cars.

Banning motorcycles will lead to more criminal activities if alternative is not provided for those using it as their main source of livelihood.

Banning motorcycles is not really the way to solve insecurity in the country. There are so many other things we need to address first, like the competence of our security operatives.

Any problem that could develop into a danger to the country’s national security or its very existence calls for certain concessions to be made; if one of those concessions is giving up the use of motorcycles, then so be it

The regulations that the government is considering imposing are good for the country as a whole, I have no problem with them because they will be to our advantage.

Such activities should be ban to reduce rate of crime which is more pronounce in the north especially in Zamfara where illegal mining of gold is taking place.
However, ban okada in the southern part of Nigeria is not necessary because major of the crime carried are not done by motorcycle. Government should rather use other security measures to stop crime rate in country.

Banning commercial okada and illegal mining in the country will be the right step in the right direction taken by our government. Criming activities will be able drop in the country. Government shouldn’t stop there, but rather look for other measures to control criminality in the country.

These terrorists are getting wiser, as evidenced by the fact that they have resorted to the use of non-traditional means of revenue like as mining and the collecting of ransom in order to finance their criminal endeavours.

Motorcycles have been held responsible for a disproportionately high number of accidents in certain regions of the country, in addition to being implicated in criminal activity.

At long last, this is a sound proposition. The unlawful mining and use of motorcycles in areas where they are not needed must be stopped. In some parts of the country, criminals take advantage of the fact that motorcycles grant them access to areas that cars and trucks cannot reach when the police are chasing them. This is a good call from the government.
