Unai Emery reveals Aston Villa’s plan for the winter transfer window.

Since Unai Emery took charge, Aston Villa has experienced a significant transformation, resulting in an astonishing streak that places them just three points behind the top spot in the Premier League this season. As the January transfer window commences, Emery has disclosed that the club anticipates the departure of one or two players. The manager also dismissed the possibility of making any significant signings during the current winter transfer window, emphasizing that the club shall only consider players who can substantially enhance the team’s performance. As a result, any potential incoming transfers are completely off the table.

The NBA have reinstated Draymond Green after a 12-game suspension.

The Golden State Warriors’ center, Draymond Green was suspended indefinitely after his violent behavior, hitting Phoenix Suns’ center, Jusuf Nurkić in the face back in December. Draymond was to go through multiple counseling sessions and evaluations. Recall the player was also suspended for five games for choking Minnesota’s Rudy Gobert in November. However, the NBA has just announced the reinstatement of the four time NBA champion, stating that Green has demonstrated huge commitment to conforming his behavioral conduct to the expected standards of the league. The Warriors have seven wins and five losses during Green’s 12 game suspension.

Giannis Antetokounmpo joins elite league for new NBA record.

Milwaukee Bucks’ star, Giannis Antetokounmpo is having a historic season, leading his team to the third best record in the league and averaging 30+ points with the highest efficiency rate in his NBA career. Coming off two consecutive 40+ point games against the San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets, the two time MVP has now joined Wilt Chamberlain and Nikola Jokic as the only players in NBA history to average 32+ points, 13+ rebounds and 7+ assists on at least 55% field goals within a 10-game span (one season).

Jordan Henderson reportedly desperate for Premier League return.

Former Liverpool captain, Jordan Henderson signed for Saudi side, Al Ettifaq in July 2023, rejoining former teammate turned manager, Steven Gerrard in a whooping £682,000 weekly wage. Six months after this transfer, emerging reports have indicated that the midfielder is desperate for a Premier League return, after his struggles with adapting to the new life in Saudi Arabia. Sources note that the poor game attendances and constant abuses have led to his resolution to return to England and would in fact be willing to take a pay cut to actualize this move.

Casemiro backs Rasmus Højlund despite slow Premier League start.

Despite hitting the ground running in the Champions League with scoring five goals in six games, new Manchester United signed player, Rasmus Højlund has had a difficult start to his premier league season, going 14 straight games without a league goal. He however opened his PL goal record, scoring the winning goal in the 3-2 comeback against Aston Villa. Casemiro has backed Højlund to continually improve, stating that the young player should not be put under too much pressure. Højlund will be hoping to get more goals as Manchester United face Tottenham on January 14.
