Bad news for Nigeria as in-form striker, Victor Boniface has suffered a muscle-tendon injury in his right adductor area while preparing for the 2024 African Cup of Nations. The Bayer Leverkusen striker has been one of the biggest revelations of the season, clinching five consecutive Bundesliga Rookie of the month awards, scoring 16 goals and 8 assists in 23 games so far this season. Set to undergo surgery in the coming days, Boniface is set to be out for two months and will now miss the upcoming AFCON, as well as some weeks of club football.

Indiana Pacers’ star, Tyrese Haliburton suffered a grace one left hamstring strain in their win against Eastern Conference leaders, Boston Celtics on Tuesday. Tottenham finally secures signing of Genoa center-back, Radu Drăgușin.
North London side, Tottenham Hotspur finally beat Bayern Munich to the signing of Genoa’s center back, Radu Drăgușin. Tottenham was forced to raise their bid after the Bundesliga giant sent in a late bid on Tuesday. The Romania international player is now set to undergo his medical in London for a €25 million fixed fee and €5 million attainable add-ons. He will sign a 5-year contract until 2029, with €3 million yearly salary. As a part of the deal, Tottenham’s forward, Djed Spence will move to Genoa on loan, with the North London club covering the full salary.

The head coach of Miami Heat, Erik Spoelstra has now agreed an eight year contract extension with the team. The contract, which is worth $120 million will ensure this as the largest value contract in NBA history. Spoelstra has spent 16 years as the head coach for Miami Heat, making him the longest serving coach in the franchise’s history and second in the NBA, after San Antonio Spurs’ Gregg Popovich. Spoelstra has taken the Heat to six NBA finals, winning two championships for the franchise.
