Cape Verde defeats Mozambique to secure Ro16 qualification.

The first team to qualify for round 16 stage at the 2023 AFCON, Cape Verde, by defeating Mozambique 3-0 to secure six points in two group stage games. Former Manchester United winger, Bebe opened the scoring from a long distance free kick in the 32nd minute. Cape Verde’s captain, Ryan Mendes doubled the lead in the 51st minute after Edmilson Dove’s defensive error at the edge of the box. Midfielder, Kevin Pina then sealed the win in the 69th minute with a superb top corner goal from outside the box.


Luka Modrić expected to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season.

2018 Ballon d’Or winner, Luka Modrić is now expected to leave Real Madrid later in June after 12 years at the club. Signing from Tottenham Hotspur for £30 million in 2012, the Croatian did become one of the best midfielders in the club’s history, winning 24 major trophies including five UEFA Champions League, three La Liga titles and two Copa Del Rey. He also won the FIFA The Best award in 2018. It is unsure where the midfielder will head to in the summer but America remains in the loop.


Senegal becomes the second team to qualify for AFCON 2023 Ro16.

Current AFCON champions, Senegal is on the pace to defending the cup as they secure qualification to the tournament’s Ro16 after 3-1 win against Cameroon. Ismaila Sarr put them ahead early in the 17th minute with a deflected effort and Habib Diallo was there to double the lead in the 71st minute. The game looked sealed until Cameroon’s Jean-Charles Castelletto pulled a goal late in the 83rd minute. However, Sadio Manè killed off the game, as his effort from inside the box easily beat Andrè Onana to secure an important 3-1 win.


In Ro16 Guinea keeps hope alive after crucial win over Gambia.

Guinea moves to the brink of a round of 16 qualification in the Group C after narrowly defeating Gambia. Midfielder, Aguibou Camara was able to convert Morgan Guilavoguis pass in the 63rd minute. Guinean striker, Mohamed Bayo almost doubled the lead late in the second half but his heavy shot unfortunately hit the crossbar. Gambia almost got an equalizer with 10 minutes left but Yankuba Mintehs goal was ruled for offside. Guinea now sits second in the Group C with four points and will be looking to seal their qualification as they play Senegal in the last group stage game.


Arsenal asserts dominance as they put 5 past Crystal Palace.

After a 3-game losing streak, Arsenal finally secured a Premier League win, putting five goals past Crystal Palace at the Emirate Stadium. Brazilian defender, Gabriel Magalhães scored the opener with a bullet header in the 11th minute before forcing Dean Henderson to make an own goal. Leandro Trossard scored a beautiful goal right before the one hour mark, before substitute, Gabriel Martinelli put the game to bed with a quick brace in the 94th and 95th minute.
