Coco Gauff wins first Grand Slam doubles in the French Open.
The current world No.2, Coco Gauff claimed her first Grand Slam doubles title on Sunday after joining forces with Kateřina Siniaková to defeat Italian duo, Sara Eranni and Jasmine Paolini. The makeshift pairing between Gauff and Siniaková only happened three days before the finals, after Gauff’s regular partner, Jessica Pegula decided to withdraw from the tournament. Both showed great chemistry in the 7-6(7-5) 6-3 victory. This is Siniaková’s 8th women’s grand slam doubles title and Gauff’s first. Gauff had suffered a painful defeat to Iga Świątek in the singles semi finals clash and this victory marks a good end for her Roland Garros run.
Coco Gauff is now a Grand Slam Champion in both singles & doubles at 20 years old.
