Enzo Fernández’s agent shut down rumours of Enzo leaving Chelsea.

Argentina midfielder, Enzo Fernández made a big money move to Chelsea in January 2023, after the 2022 World Cup heroics. Since, there has been no major improvements at the club which ended 10th last season and are currently 11th on the PL table, triggering speculations about Enzo’s future at the London club. However, his agent, Uriel Perez has just debunked these rumours, noting that they are aware of the situation and the time needed for the team to fit together.

The Super Eagles defeat South Africa to make AFCON 2023 finals.

In crucial semi final match, Nigeria battled out South Africa to secure a place in the AFCON 2023 finals. Despite a much dominating first half, South Africa failed to make their mark and it was the Super Eagles’ captain, William Troost-Ekong who opened the scoring in the 67th minute after Victor Osimhen was brought down in the box. A new Blue Card rule reportedly set to be introduced to football.

Reports are indicating that a new blue card rule is set to be introduced to football to curb cynical fouls and dissents. As such, players who receive the blue card will be sent from the pitch for ten minutes. It is also stated that there will be a possibility for mixed colours that will see players dismissed finally from the field for receiving double blue cards. This recommendation is set to be reviewed by the International Football Association Board and will be tried across various competitions.

Without a doubt, Côte d’Ivoire’s AFCON 2023 story has been nothing short of a fairy tale. Hosting the coveted tournament, they were on the brink of a group stage elimination and only qualified to the next round as one of the best losers and now, they are in the finals! Dortmund’s striker, Sébastien Haller grabbed a crucial second half goal to help the host country secure the finals’ spot where they will now face Nigeria on February 11th.
