Omar Berrada set to be appointed as new Manchester United CEO.

The emergence of Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS company as a board member of Manchester United have heralded a much-needed overhaul in the club’s football management structure. As a part of the overhaul, Manchester United has just announced Omar Berrada will be appointed as the club’s new Chief of Executive. Berrada, who was the Chief Football Operations Officer at the City Football Group will leave the role with immediate effect and take over Manchester United’s CEO role from next season.


West Ham set to break their transfer record to sign Victor Boniface.

Nigerian striker, Victor Boniface has been one of the most lethal strikers this season, contributing to Bayer Leverkusen’s unbeaten run since the season commenced. With 16 goals and 8 assists in 23 games this season, Boniface is proving his £17 million worth to the Xabi Alonso side. Emerging news from London are however indicating West Ham’s interest, with the club willing to break its transfer record land the forward in the summer.


Angola defeats Mauritania in five goals – Cup of Nations thriller.

Despite putting up a hard fight, Mauritania suffered their second defeat in the 2023 AFCON tournament. Gelson Dala proved to be the star of the show, scoring two goals to secure all three points for Angola at the Stade de la Paix stadium. After Gelson’s 30th minute goal, Sidi Bouna Amar responded right before the second half mark. Gelson restored Angola’s lead in the 50th minute and Gilberto scored a third. However, Koita’s 58th minute goal was not enough to salvage a point for Mauritania who sits last in the Group D standings.


Tunisia secures first 2023 AFCON point in 1-1 draw against Mali.

Coming from behind versus Mali, Tunisia’s team was able to secure their first point of the 2023 AFCON tournament. After going down early through Lassine Sinayoko’s strike from the side of the box in the 10th minute, Tunisia equalized in the 20th minute as Rafia fired home Ali Abdi’s pass. Sinayoko failed to bury his second half chance to Propel Mali to a win which would have seen them qualify for the next round of the competition.


Baghdad Bounedjah scores late equalizer as Algeria snatches draw.

Burkina Faso was on the verge of a second straight win in the 2023 AFCON tournament until Baghdad Bounedjah’s second half brace helped salvage an important draw for Algeria, who were on the brink of a first round exit. Mohamed Konate opened the scoring for Burkina Faso late in the first half but Baghdad responded quickly six minutes into the second half. Bertrand Traore looked to have won the game for Burkina Faso after converting a 71st minute penalty but Baghdad again saved the day, slotting the ball past Kouakou koffi in the 95th minute to keep Algeria’s Ro16 hopes alive.
