Photo by Michel Isamuna- Ask Nigeria

13% of Nigerians are homeless, this is the highest percentage on the planet.

TVC News Nigeria gives us a report on homelessness in Nigeria.

Nigerians often move to big cities in hopes of finding prosperity and opportunity. However, many of these individuals find themselves struggling to adjust to city life. This can be attributed to a number of factors, including the high cost of living, the fast pace of life, and the lack of social support systems. Additionally, many new arrivals to cities are not educated and able to properly communicate, which can make finding a job and getting around difficult. Most suffer abuse and are forced to work dangerous job for little pay.

One thing I have come to discover is the fact that most people who seek for jobs lack matching skill for the job. The people who migrated from rural to urban areas that experience homelessness are either without a relative they can put up for a while or financial capacity to rent a apartment in the urban areas.

People should learn to live according to their income and reduce their lavish lifestyle; when they do that, homelessness will be reduced.

Most organisations in Nigeria underpay their staff. Now imagine living in an expensive environment; the best thing is to live where suits your budget.

Our bad government and poor economy is to be blame for all this. These homeless people later end up being theft and engaging there self in bad gangs just to survive whereas, our society keeps getting rotten government really needs to interfere.

With the way our economy is now rate of poverty is getting high, no jobs, standard of living is hard. These people migrating to city also want to earn good living and live a better but the country is really hard making people to suffer and become homeless. May God help Nigeria.

Unrealistic expectation hurts. Moving to a new place is also not a bad idea, but while doing that we should be prepared for the unexpected.

However, some sincerely need help.

I hope some NGOs come to their aid before they lose hope in humanity.

It is most unfortunately that a country like ours that has enough resources for self sustainable will have 24.4 million Nigerian homeless.

Unfortunately, alot of Nigerians lack shelter. The government is also not doing enough to curb this menace. Government should build some houses for the less privileged ones, so that it will help reduce their burden of living.

Is too bad, homeless in Nigeria, a country that is rich in natural resources yet the government cannot manage it well for the betterment of the country. What a shame
