“Innovation and Disruption: Core Strategies for Success”, gaming conference '23.

The federal government restated that efforts will be made to guarantee that there is a steady path towards sustainable development and growth in the gaming industry in the country. Honourable Zephaniah Jisalo, Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, spoke at the launch ceremony of the International Gaming Conference 2023, that was organised by the National Lottery Regulatory Commission. He said that the Federal Ministry of Special Duties knows that the major cause of friction between the state and federal regulators is revenue.

International Gaming Conference 2023 was celebrated with the theme: “Innovation and Disruption: Core Strategies for Success”. According to Jisalo, the topics and theme were chosen for the discussion during the conference, and they are pivotal to address the current issues of the gaming industry of the country. He also added that the strategy of the event deserves commendation and applause for all valued stakeholders in the sector. The Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, hopes for a successful outcome.

There has been a consistent growth path in the Commission.

Also, the National Lottery Act 2005 (As Amended) created the National Lottery Regulatory Commission. The National Assembly has an Act which has helped the Federal Government of Nigeria to coordinate and establish the activities of lottery business in Nigeria. After the initiative, there has been a consistent growth path in the Commission. The conference is regarded as a commitment and demonstration, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Relatively, the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR is to guarantee that stakeholders know the significance which the federal government accords to the sector. In addition, the Minister declared that the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs (FMSDIGA) encouraged operators to maintain compliance and all relevant agencies who were present at the conference should enhance inter-agency partnerships, which would then ensure the promotion of the success made in the industry to greater heights.

Furthermore, he stated that the strategic plan of the conference will be the outcome of the event towards the enhancement of the future of the industry. Also, the Minister implored all stakeholders to view the participation of the ministry as a national call to service and view the country, Nigeria, as a broad picture. He restated that the conference will emanate a win-win situation for all major stakeholders, leading to the betterment of the gaming industry that will move it forward.

More so, he announced that generally speaking, everyone knows that the industry in Nigeria has developed tremendously in regards to the world being a Global Village. As a result of this, the minister used the occasion and conference meeting to address the issue of the dichotomy of regulators in the nation. Nevertheless, he declared that all concerned sectors would find a mutual common ground for the benefit of stakeholders, to promote progress, harmony, and peace.

A newly developed gaming industry will emerge.

Hence, an engagement of Shared-Value was suggested by the ministry to attain a resolution of issues in the gaming sector instead of the approach of Jurisdictional Protection. He expressed his gratitude to everybody who honoured the invitation to the opening of the conference. He mentioned that he appreciated their presence. Additionally, he expressed his conviction that the calibre of attendees depicted that there would be a newly developed gaming industry in the country, in which everyone will be proud to be a part of.
