Roméo Lavia set to miss the remainder of the season to injury setbacks.

Chelsea midfielder, Roméo Lavia has had his Chelsea debut season ravaged by recurring injuries since signing from Southampton for £53 million. Arriving at the London club with an ankle injury, the Belgian midfielder missed the first five months of the season before eventually making his debut in Chelsea’s 2-1 win against Crystal Palace in December. After the game, Chelsea’s manager, Mauricio Pochettino confirmed that the midfielder had sustained another injury, keeping him out of the team until now. Chelsea has now confirmed that Lavia will miss the remainder of the season due to suffering thigh injury setbacks.


Finalists for the Naismith Women’s College Player of the year revealed.

The women’s college basketball has experienced some of the best performances this season. Ahead of the coveted Women’s College awards, Iowa point guard, Caitlin Clark, Stanford’s Cameron Brink, UConn’s Paige Bueckers and USC’s Juju Watkins have been announced as the finalist for the Naismith player of the year award. Despite being a tight race between these players, Caitlin is being tipped to win the award. With an historical season, the Iowa guard has etched her name as one of the greatest NCAA players of all time, leading the league in points per game (31.8) and assists (8.9). She also became the all time leading goal scorer in NCAA history.


Pep Lijnders reportedly under consideration for Ajax’s managerial role.

It seems like Jurgen Klopp might not be the only coaching staff leaving Liverpool at the end of the season. Reports emerging from Netherlands are indicating that Eredivisie giant, Ajax are presently considering Klopp’s assistant coach, Pep Lijnders to become the club’s next permanent manager. After parting ways with Maurice Steijn, the club appointed John van’t Schip as interim manager until the end of the season. Despite a really bad start to the season, Ajax are presently fighting for a top three spot, and the club’s board feel Lijnders would be the one to return the club to its glory days.


Nikola Jokić sets new NBA record in loss to the Phoenix Suns.

Denver Nuggets’ star, Nikola Jokić has unarguably been one of the best NBA players over the last years. Leading the Nuggets to its first ever NBA Championship and winning two MVP awards, the Serbian continues to be one of the most dominant players in the league. In Denver’s 104-97 loss to the Phoenix Suns, Jokić recorded a near triple double; 22 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists, becoming the first NBA player to record 8000 points, 4000 rebounds and 3000 assists within a five year span. He is currently leading the poll to win the MVP award this season, which will be his third in the last four years.


Sandro Tonali charged by the FA for 50 betting offenses this season.

Italy and Newcastle midfielder, Sandro Tonali has just been charged for alleged illegal betting on about 50 matches between August 12 and October 13,2023. The 23 years-old is currently serving a 10-month ban from Italian authorities for betting misconducts in his time in Serie A after his €55 million move from AC Milan last summer. Tonali has been given until April 5th to respond to these charges. However, Newcastle do not expect these new charges to disrupt his proposed return in August.
