Egypt and Ghana played out an entertaining game as both sides sealed off a 2-2 draw in their second game of the tournament. After Salah suffered a first half injury, Ghana’s Mohammed Kudus opened the scoring with a beautiful strike from outside the box. Egypt responded quick in the second half, as Omar Marmoush took advantage of Inaki Williams’ back pass. Mohammed Kudus have the black stars a second lead two minutes later with a superb curler. The Super Eagles, after a 1-1 draw against Equatorial Guinea on matchday 1, were under pressure to secure a victory. In a huge face off against host country, Ivory Coast, Nigeria proved to be formidable, securing a 1-0 victory, all thanks to Ekong’s penalty. Despite Victor Osimhen not being on the scoresheet, his runs were lethal in helping Nigeria win the second half penalty. With this win, the Super Eagles finally end their six-game conceding run, as they edge towards a round of 16 qualification. They sit second, level on point with Equatorial Guinea and will face Guinea Bissau for their final group stage game.

A big contender in the Champions League and the present league leaders, Real Madrid seemed to be on the trajectory to secure its first ever treble. However, arch-rival, Atletico Madrid shattered this dream after extra-time 4-2 win over Real Madrid in the Copa Del Rey quarter finals on Thursday.
