Los Angeles Clippers sign Kawhi Leonard on a contract extension.
Two time NBA champion, Kawhi Leonard has just signed a three year contract extension with the Los Angeles Clippers, in a deal worth a whopping $152.3 million. Kawhi, despite his injury woes, remains one of the franchise’s most consistent players, averaging 24 points per game this season. Sources note that the deal will see him receive $52 million in his first year and $50 million, over each of the next two years. The contract will not include a player option, but reportedly has a 15 percent trade kicker.

England midfielder, Eric Dier joins Bayern Munich in €4 million deal.
Eric Dier has just joined Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur in a deal worth about €4 million. With the incoming transfer of new defenders, Dier, whose role was changed from midfield to defense, saw limited playing time in Postecoglou’s team and with the new signing of Dragusin set to further plunge his limited playing time, the England midfielder has decided to join the Bundesliga giant. Dier will be a perfect fit to replace Kim Min-Jae and Noussair Mazraoui, who are both out on international duties.

Grizzlies’ Marcus Smart sustains severe right ring finger injury.
After Ja Morant’s season ending injury, Memphis Grizzlies’ Point Guard, Marcus Smart has also sustained a severe right ring finger injury, which will sideline him for over six weeks. Smart, who joined Memphis Grizzlies in a three-team trade that sent Tyus Jones to Washington Wizards and Kristaps Porziņģis to the Boston Celtics, has become one of Grizzlies’ most efficient players. Premier league team, Newcastle United have made some big money signings since PIF acquired majority stakes in October 2021. Borussia Dortmund completed loan signing of Chelsea star, Ian Maatsen.
Bundesliga side, Borussia Dortmund has announced the signing of Chelsea’s young left back, Ian Maatsen on a six month loan deal. Maatsen, who has also just signed a new three year contract with Chelsea until 2027, will be looking to enjoy more playing time in Germany. With the loan signing of former player, Jadon Sancho also announced, Dortmund will be hoping to complete with Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen, who are presently atop the league’s standings.
