Ivory Coast kicks off 2023 Cup of Nations with emphatic 2-0 victory.
Host country, Ivory Coast opened the AFCON 2024 tournament with a bang at the Olympic Stadium of Ebimpé, defeating Guinea-Bissau 2-0. Early goal from Seko Fofana in the opening five minutes of the game looked to set the trajectory of the game, as Ivory Coast dominated the match across all coasts. Red Star Belgrade forward, Jean-Philippe Krasso doubled the lead in the 58th minute, sealing an important victory for the host country. They now sit first in the Group A and will face Nigeria next, in hopes to secure their qualification to the next round.
