Questlove makes big claim regarding the Kendrick Lamar-Drake beef.
The recent feud between Hip Hop heavyweights, Kendrick Lamar and Drake have sparked a much needed momentum of the hip hop genre within the mainstream music market. With multiple diss tracks from both artists which are now predicted to earn top 5 entries in next week’s Billboard top 100 charts, fans are convinced that this controversy has been a good fortune for the genre. However, Questlove, a member of the popular Roots band believes otherwise. In a social media post, he noted that the war was won by none of the artists, describing the beef as a wrestling match level mud-slinging aimed at takedown of women and children. He further criticized the fans for being a part of hip hop’s toxic culture before claiming that the genre is truly dead. This take has triggered mixed reactions among fans.
