Raphael Dwamena tragically passes away after on-field collapse.

Former Ghanaian striker, Raphael Dwamena has tragically passed away after collapsing on the field in the 24th minute of an Albanian top division game between his team, KF Egnatia vs Partizani. Numerous attempts to resuscitate him yielded no result and was later pronounced dead. The striker has had a start-stop career due to his heart condition and although he was advised to retire, he could not leave the sport that he loved. Dwamena had earlier collapsed in 2021 while playing for Blau-Weiß Linz. Following this tragic incident, all sporting events in Albania for Saturday were canceled immediately.

The Recording Academy released the nominations for the 2024 Grammy awards on Friday afternoon and here are some of the artistes with the most nominations. R&B sensation, SZA was the most nominated with nine nominations, including song of the year, album of the year and best R&B performance. Victoria Monet follows with seven nominations for her album, “Jaguar II”. Phoebe Bridges and Serban Ghenea were also nominated for seven categories, while the likes of Jon Batiste, Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift also received six nominations each.
