Tems announces her 2024 “Born in the Wild” world tour after debut album.
Moments after disclosing the new release date for her debut album, Tems has just announced that she would be going on a world tour. The “Born in the Wild” tour will kickstart on June 12 at the Eventim Apollo, London. The tour will go through a range of European cities including Oslo, Paris, Berlin and Cologne before heading for North America from August until November. She will round off the tour appearances in Australia. Her shows in Africa and Asia are yet to be disclosed. Presale for the tickets will commence on May 14 and the general sale, on May 17.

The second season of “Shogun” is officially now in development.
New American historical drama, “Shogun” which follows James Clavell’s 1975 eponymous novel has been one of the most critically and commercially successful tv series this year. The Hulu-released series premiered on February 27th, 2024 with rumours that there would be no renewal for a new season. However, the show’s star, Hiroyuki Sanada has just reportedly signed a new deal to reprise his role as the lead character, Lord Toranaga ahead of the production for a second season.

Dremo fires shots at Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie in new release.
The African hip hop scene looks set to follow in the footsteps of American rap with new feuds flying around. Nigerian rapper, Dremo has just fired shots at Ghanaian rap legend, Sarkodie after his new song, “Brag”. Sarkodie chest-bumped and took jabs at Nigerian artists including Wizkid, Burna Boy and Davido while highlighting his position in the growth of African music. This did not seem to go down well with Dremo who criticized the Ghanaian rapper for having “light bars”. Fans are hopeful that this triggers a spotlight on African rap music.

Post Malone and Morgan Wallen collaborates on new single, “I Had Some Help”.
American singer and songwriter, Post Malone joins forces with popular Country singer, Morgan Wallen to deliver a perfect duet in “I Had Some Help”. The song which was released on Friday, May 10 received over 18 million radio plays on its first day of release. The song has also debuted at number 1 on the global Spotify charts with over 13.9 million first day streams. This is the biggest debut for an all-make collaboration in Spotify history and the song is now predicted to debut at number 1 on the US Billboard Chart.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle visit Nigeria for a 3-day tour.
Celebrity couple, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are on a 3-day visit in Nigeria, their first ever trip to Africa’s most popular country. The visit was prompted by the Invictus Games, a global sporting event for wounded military personnel which he started about a decade ago. Arriving in the country on Friday, the couple were met with great cheers and celebration. The couple have since visited a school in Abuja to discuss mental health, as well as meeting wounded soldiers in Northern Kaduna. The couple has been greatly received by citizens and government officials since arriving in the country.
