TikTok sues the United States’ government over forcing ban.
Popular social media company, TikTok was accused of being a national security risk by the US legislators, claiming that the app was sharing the data of American citizens with the Chinese government and also manipulating the content on the app. As a result, the legislators moved to ban the app in America. In new reports however, TikTok has sued the US government in a bid to challenge the forceful ban of the company in the country. TikTok has accused the US government of unfairly singling out their platform, noting that this move is an unprecedented attack on the people’s free speech. Although the company has been given an ultimatum to sell to an approved buyer, TikTok losing in court means the company would have to shut down in America next year.
