Bundesliga giant, Bayern Munich are reportedly set to sign talented defender, Nordi Mukiele in preparation for the absence of Kim Min-Jae and Noussair, who are set to miss the next month due to international duties. Mukiele, who had previously played for RB Leipzig, is versatile and can conveniently fill the right back and center back positions and has been identified as Tuchel’s top target to provide necessary coverage for Bayern Munich’s backline. The transfer is expected to be a loan with a €25 million option to buy the defender at the end of the season.


Coco Gauff defeats Svitolina to win ASB Classic Women’s Singles.

US Open champion, Coco Gauff put in an incredible performance to defeat Elina Svitolina to win her second consecutive Auckland Classic on Sunday. The 19 year old has been on an incredible run, beating Emma Navarro in the semi finals, before coming back from a first set loss to secure a 6-7(4), 6-3, 6-3 win for her back to back ASB title win. This brings her to a total of seven WTA singles trophy of her career and Coco expressed her joy at being able to defend a title for the first time. She will be looking to replicate this form in the Australian Open which will commence on January 14.


Juan Mata leaves Japanese club, Vissel Kobe, becomes free agent.

Former Chelsea and Manchester United player, Juan Mata has left Japanese side, Vissel Kobe after the expiration of his four month contract. The Spaniard signed a short term contract with the club after leaving Galatasaray midway through the season, helping the team win its first ever J.League title. In a statement, Mata stated his genuine happiness at being a part of the club’s history-making moment. However, it is yet unknown whether Mata will listen to new offers or decide to retire.

Guinea Bissau defeats Nigeria in World international friendlies.

Ahead of the upcoming African Cup of Nations, the Super Eagles have suffered a huge defeat to Guinea Bissau in Monday’s international friendlies. The game which was played behind closed doors in the Baniyas Stadium, Abu Dhabi, saw the Syli Stars take an early lead in the 14th minute through Aguibou Camara’s effort. Nigeria’s Moses Simon lost a penalty to level the game in the first half before doubling their advantage to a 2-0 lead in the 64th minute.
