Real Madrid are looking to let go of some of its forward players, with Kylian Mbappe and Endrick set to join the squad next season. One of the names being tipped for a summer exit is Brazil forward, Rodrygo. He was instrumental in Real Madrid’s 14th champion league win, scoring crucial knockout stage goals against Chelsea and Manchester City to send Real Madrid to the finals. The 23 year-old winger has received huge attention from top Premier League clubs, with the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City reportedly lining up summer transfer bids for the talented forward and sources are confirming that Madrid will be willing to negotiate if a whooping €85 million offer is received.


Axel Tuanzebe switches his allegiance from England to DR Congo.

Former Manchester United defender, Axel Tuanzebe has decided to switch his nationality to DR Congo from England after consecutive omissions. Axel graduated from Manchester United’s academy but could not stamp his place in the first team. He went on loan to Aston Villa, Napoli and Stoke City before eventually making a permanent move to Ipswich Town. All these while, being omitted from the England squad, he will now represent DR Congo effective immediately.


Nigeria secures a win in Finidi George’s first start as interim coach.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria were able to claim a 2-1 win against bitter rival, Ghana in international friendlies. The game which was played in Marrakech, Morocco on Friday, saw Cyriel Dessers convert a penalty in the 38th minute to secure his first goal for the Super Eagles. Ademola Lookman doubled the lead in the 83rd minute, slotting home Iwobi’s beautiful pass. Jordan Ayew’s late penalty was not enough to help Ghana secure a draw.


Jordan Henderson to miss international friendlies due to injury.

Gareth Southgate has confirmed that England midfielder, Jordan Henderson will miss the international game against Brazil and is in doubt for the Belgium clash after sustaining an injury in the training session. Henderson, who just moved to Ajax, six months after his move to Saudi Arabia side, Al Ettifaq was hoping to further cement his place in the team ahead of the Euros 2024 and this injury will be a huge blow for the veteran midfielder.


Alex Iwobi speaks on Nigeria’s tactics at the African Cup of Nations.

Fulham midfielder, Alex Iwobi did not have the smoothest ride in Super Eagles’ run to the AFCON 2023 finals. The former Arsenal player was heavily criticized and was a victim of online abuse and bullying due to his underwhelming performance in the final. Iwobi has however stated that the coach’s tactical decision was for him and Brentford’s star, Frank Onyeka to sit deep and manage the game, giving Ivory Coast the chance to control the game. This, he explained, hugely affected his overall performance in the tournament.
