The Association of Mega Filling Station Owners of Nigeria (AMFSON) expressed concern over the challenging conditions of doing business in the country. They highlighted increasing energy expenses, high transportation costs for product delivery, and the narrowing profit margins from product sales as major issues that they are currently grappling with. The National Executive Committee was officially launched by the association, with Chief Davison Nwankwo assuming the role of National President of the Association of Mega Filling Station Owners of Nigeria.
More so, the officials of AMFSON were inaugurated during a challenging period for the nation, with widespread issues of unreliable Power Supply and expensive Petroleum products affecting the entire country and businesses. Following the Ordinary General Meeting (OGM) in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, the Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the association, Ambassador Kenneth Nwachukwu, emphasized the mission of AMFSON when it was established in 2010; this mission is to safeguard the interests of its members.
OGM denoted the revival of the national network of filling station owners.
In a statement released to journalists in Kaduna, he reiterated this commitment. Nwachukwu emphasized the importance of AMFSON members staying cohesive and dedicated to the mission of the association in order to fully reap the rewards of their membership. The national executive committee of The Association of Mega Filling Station Owners of Nigeria (AMFSON) has officially been established, and Chief Davison Nwankwo has been appointed as the national President of the association, as per the announcement.
Furthermore, the 2024 Ordinary General Meeting (OGM) reached its climax at the grand inauguration ceremony held at the Tokyu Grande Hotel in Port Harcourt. This event signified the official revival of the nationwide network of filling station owners operating under the NNPC brand. AMFSON’s revival is on the horizon as the nation grapples with inconsistent energy supply and soaring prices of petroleum products nationwide. Prior to the inauguration event, individuals from the association gathered in Port Harcourt from various parts of the country.

Nwankwo, who also holds the position of the Managing Director of Deez Oil & Gas Limited, gave assurance to members of the association that under his leadership, he will ensure maximum protection of the business interest of members of AMFSON. His commitment was clear as he promised that AMFSON would actively collaborate with the leadership of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Limited to guarantee profitable returns on investments for its members’ businesses.

Additionally, AMFSON’s new national executive committee has been officially sworn in, featuring Chief Davison Nwankwo as Association President, Barr Jacob Obande as the Vice President, Ambassador Kenneth Nwachukwu as Secretary of the association, Obi Okechukwu as AMFSON’s Publicity Secretary, and Comrade Prince Omugbe as the Treasurer. Additional members include Hon Ejike Amedu serving as the Public Relations Officer, Toyin Ogunwole serving as the Zonal Vice Chairman for the South-West, Emmanuel Okon holding the position of Zonal Vice Chairman for the South-South, and Salem Ahmed acting as the Zonal Vice Chairman for the North-West.
