Nigeria signed a convention to end use of IED/mines, but bandits continue use.

TVC News Nigeria gives us a report on land mines and explosives in Nigeria.

Since 2016, Nigeria has experienced over 10,000 casualties from explosive hazards in the states of Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe. These hazards have had a devastating impact on the people of Nigeria and their families. The loss of life has been catastrophic, and the impact on the economy has been devastating. The international community must help us address this problem and prevent further loss of life. We call on developed nations to provide financial and technical assistance to help us clean up the hazardous areas and to provide support to the families who have lost loved ones. We also call on the international community to help us raise awareness of the dangers of explosive hazards and to provide training to our people on how to avoid and respond to these dangers.
