Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese included in the WNBA All-Stars squad.
Rookie duo, Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese have been selected among the 12-player team WNBA to face the U.S women’s national team for the 2024 WNBA All-Star game. They are the only first timers appearing on the All-Stars list. Selected no. 1 and 7 respectively in the 2024 draft class, Clark and Reese have shared an on-court rivalry dating back to their college days at Iowa and LSU and this rivalry has been monumental in helping the WNBA grow in such a short time. This is the first time since 2014 where two rookies will be included in the All-Stars in the same season. The duo will have a chance to be teammates during the All-Stars game which is scheduled for July 20th in Phoenix.

Turkey secures a thrilling win over Austria to reach the Euros’ quarter final.
Merih Demiral came up clutch with a brace to lead Turkey to their first quarter final in 16 years. The Al-Ahli defender opened the scoring under the 1st minute, capitalizing on Austria’s mistake and smashing the ball past Patrick Pentz. In the 59th minute, Demiral leaped above every other person, heading home a pinpoint cross to double Turkey’s lead. Austria’s substitute, Michael Gregoritsch responded with a beautiful finish in the 66th minute and although Austria was close to securing a last-minute comeback, Turkey’s goalkeeper, Mert Günok pulled off one of the best saves of the tournament, swerving away Baumgartner’s close range header in the dying minutes. Turkey will now face the Netherlands on Saturday for a chance to advance to the semifinal.
