Emile Smith-Rowe completes medical tests ahead of Fulham move.

Talented midfielder, Emile Smith Rowe has just completed his medical tests and is set to transfer from Arsenal to Fulham in a deal worth £34 million. Fulham will pay £27 million over four years, with an additional £7 million in performance-related add-ons. This marks Fulham’s first permanent signing of the summer as they aim to reinvest funds from João Palhinha’s transfer to Bayern Munich. Kylian Mbappé becomes a majority owner of Ligue 2 club, Caen.

Real Madrid star, Kylian Mbappé is set to become the majority owner of French second-division club Stade Malherbe de Caen. He plans to invest approximately €15 million through his Coalition Capital Investment fund to acquire 80% of the club’s shares and will also help pay off some of its debt. This move will see Mbappé replace the American investment fund Oaktree, which acquired 80% of the club in 2020, making him the youngest active player to own a football club. The remaining 20% is owned by Pierre Antoine Capton, the current president of the club’s supervisory board. Mbappé has a long-standing connection with Caen, as the club tracked him for three years when he was a teenager. Caen finished sixth in Ligue 2 in the 2023-24 season, narrowly missing out on promotion play-offs to Ligue 1. The club has produced notable talents like N’Golo Kanté, Raphaël Guerreiro, and William Gallas.

Nigerian sprinter Favour Ofili has voiced her disappointment and frustration over being excluded from the 100m Women’s event at the ongoing Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Troyes reinstated in Ligue 2, following Bordeaux’s administrative relegation.

French side, Troyes, owned by City Football Group, have been reinstated into Ligue 2 following Bordeaux’s administrative relegation. Troyes were initially relegated from Ligue 1 in the 2022-23 season and faced a second demotion this year. However, after Bordeaux’s bankruptcy left only 19 clubs in Ligue 2, Troyes, who finished 17th in National 1, have been brought back to the second tier. The club announced that their budget for a full Ligue 2 season has been approved by the Ligue de Football Professionnel. Troyes stated, “We acknowledge this decision and are now focused on building a team that will compete ambitiously and represent Troyes with humility this season and in the future.”
