Olivier Giroud to retire from International Football after the Euros 2024.
After waving goodbye to AC Milan and European football, Oliver Giroud has also disclosed that he would be retiring from international football after the upcoming Euros 2024 tournament. The 37 year-old striker was a crucial factor in France’s 2018 World Cup heroics. With 131 international appearances and 57 goals, he is the country’s highest goal scorer, overtaking Thierry Henry during the 2022 World Cup tournament. Speaking to L’Equipe, Giroud revealed that he needed to make way for the younger generation and did not want to play a season too many.
