Candace Parker announces retirement from the WNBA after 16 seasons.
Las Vegas Aces star, Candace Parker has taken to Social Media to announce her Retirement from the WNBA after 16 seasons. The two-time league MVP who also played for Chicago Sky and Los Angeles Sparks became the first player to win the WNBA Championship with three different teams. She was also the first player in the league’s history to receive the Rookie of the year and Most Valuable Player award in the same season. Parker was included in the WNBA All Star and First Team seven times. She also won defensive player of the year in 2020 and two gold medals with the national team. In her social media announcement, Parker wrote, “I promised I’d never change the game and that I’d leave it in a better place than I came into it.”
