Barca sends a new bid for Olmo after agreeing a 6-year deal with the player.
Following Dani Olmo’s outstanding performances at Euro 2024, where Spain clinched the title, several European clubs, including Barcelona, have shown interest in signing the midfielder. Initially, Barcelona prioritized signing Athletic Club’s Nico Williams, but with the winger likely to stay with the Basque club for another year, they have turned their attention back to Olmo. After having their first bid rejected, Barcelona have reportedly made significant progress in bringing back their former youth academy star. The club has agreed to a six-year contract with Olmo and submitted a new, improved offer to RB Leipzig. The offer includes €55 million guaranteed, close to Olmo’s €60 million release clause, plus €7 million in add-ons, potentially totalling €62 million. While Leipzig has yet to respond, Olmo’s commitment to accepting only Barcelona’s proposal might finally seal the deal.

Dominic Solanke being eyed for a possible transfer this summer by Tottenham.
Tottenham Hotspur has had a quiet summer but is now ramping up efforts to sign a new striker, with Dominic Solanke added to their shortlist. The north London club is considering a move for the Bournemouth striker but has not yet made an official bid. Last season, Spurs alternated between using Son Heung-Min and Richarlison as their central striker, but neither secured the position. Solanke, an England international, was one of the top scorers in the Premier League during the 2023/24 season, netting 19 goals—only behind Erling Haaland, Cole Palmer, and Alexander Isak. This impressive form has made him a key target for manager Ange Postecoglou, who is looking to strengthen Tottenham’s attacking line-up before the August 30th transfer deadline. Solanke reportedly has a £65 million release clause that can only be activated by the “big six” clubs.
