Premier League plans to remove point deduction for luxury fine.
After Everton and Nottingham Forest have been penalized with point deductions for breaching the FFP rule this season, the Premier League is reportedly considering removing the point deduction penalty to introduce the NBA style of “luxury tax/fines”. This is due to concerns about top players leaving their clubs and even clubs failing to attract the best players if their pay is restricted. With this new implementation, clubs who breach the FFP rule will rather face financial penalties that increase the more they spend and the money received will be distributed among the other PL clubs that comply with the rule.
