Leaders should fulfill their duties to improve the lives of all Nigerians.

The suffering and hardship of the ordinary masses are being pointed to by Former President Olusegun Obasanjo as the cause of the current state of Volatility in the country. Also, the topic of leadership in today’s unpredictable and complicated world was addressed by the former Military Head of State. He emphasized the urgent need for the country’s leaders to fulfill their responsibilities in order to improve the lives of all Nigerians. The current situation in Nigeria is characterized by volatility, unpredictability, complexity, ambiguity, and peril. He advised that citizens make the most of the opportunity when they have effective leaders, as they are rare and valuable. They should learn from their example and take advantage of their leadership while they can.

Becoming a professional politician does not require any formal training.

In order to create a more stable and clear world, Nigeria requires specific leaders who embody the qualities of Jesus Christ. These leaders serve as a model for how others can navigate through complexity and uncertainty. In the quest to reassess the world, it is imperative that people reflect on their perceptions. Jesus Christ forewarned that in this lifetime, adversity is inevitable. What steps can be taken to navigate through challenges? It’s time for a fresh wave of leadership – leaders with strong moral compasses, the ability to bring about positive change, and a focus on serving others.

More so, the upcoming leaders will demonstrate leadership through love and spearhead the process of re-evaluating and transforming. Politicians are a unique breed. They must navigate the complexities of the world while still remaining connected to it in some way. Becoming a professional Politician does not require any formal training. It is a career path that anyone can enter at any moment without prior experience or qualifications. One can simply decide one day that they are a politician. To achieve success as a politician, it is essential to have a backup career option for livelihood.

Discovery of crude oil brought about unfortunate consequences.

During his presidency, Obasanjo said he consistently reminded his party that he would not be swayed from his principles. If they attempted to push him in a direction he did not agree with, he would simply tell them that it would return to his farm and leave the job to them. It is unfortunate that certain politicians do not have a backup plan. A politician without a second address lacks integrity, and may easily compromise on values and beliefs. Such individuals cannot be relied upon to act consistently or ethically.

Furthermore, Obasanjo also addressed the challenges arising from the country’s reliance on oil. In Nigeria, the discovery of crude oil brought about unfortunate consequences. Instead of focusing on agriculture, Nigeria became reliant on oil, a non-renewable resource that ultimately caused more harm than good. It is time to shift focus back to agriculture, a sustainable and beneficial asset for the country. Nigeria’s restless and discontented youths require attention and support to prevent them from becoming a threat to society.

Effective leaders are needed to guide citizens to a more fruitful future.

By providing education, skills, empowerment, and employment, the country can prevent future attacks from those who may seek to harm it. Failure to do so will inevitably lead to violence in communities. Insufficient food production is a major issue, with over $20 billion being spent on food imports. 60% of available arable land remains uncultivated, and the cultivated land is not being utilized to its full potential. Effective leaders are needed to guide citizens towards a more fruitful future. Effective leadership is essential for success, regardless of the resources available. This is especially true in Africa, where the importance of strong leadership cannot be overstated.
