Mbappé no longer wants to play for France due to relationship with Deschamps.
Real Madrid star, Kylian Mbappé’s exclusion from the French national team for a second time has fueled speculation about his future with Les Bleus. Reports suggest that strained relations with manager Didier Deschamps have influenced the Real Madrid forward’s decision to stay away from Clairefontaine. Deschamps provided few specifics on his choice but mentioned that he’d spoken with Mbappé before deciding, adding, “It’s a one-off choice for this gathering.” Meanwhile, French sources indicate Mbappé might refuse to play for France unless there’s a managerial change. His mother and agent, Fayza Lamari, is also reportedly frustrated with the negative portrayal of her son in French media, leading them to adopt a “us against the world” stance. The international break gives Mbappé time to recharge, though he will first feature in Real Madrid’s La Liga match against Osasuna, seeking to regain form amid ongoing tensions.
🚨🚨| NEW: Kylian Mbappé NO longer wants to play for France in the current situation he faces! 🇫🇷❌

Bronny James assigned to the Los Angeles Lakers’ G-League affiliate.
The Los Angeles Lakers have assigned Bronny James to their G League affiliate, South Bay, as reported by Shams Charania. He’ll remain with the Lakers for Friday’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers before making his G League debut on Saturday against Salt Lake City, though he’s expected to play only in South Bay home games. The 20-year-old second-round pick has seen limited action with the Lakers, averaging just one point across four appearances. Head coach JJ Redick noted the Lakers always planned for James to move between the NBA and G League this season, emphasizing a flexible development approach. After a modest season at USC, James shows potential as a defender and playmaker, but his offensive skills need refinement. In the G League, he’ll get more game time to grow. “He has a great opportunity to become an excellent NBA player,” Redick stated in July.

Tyrese Maxey set to miss multiple weeks after sustaining a hamstring injury.
Philadelphia 76ers All-Star Tyrese Maxey is set to miss a few weeks due to a right hamstring strain, sources told ESPN. The team confirmed the injury on Thursday, adding that Maxey will be re-evaluated in a week. Although Maxey has typically been pushed to play through injuries—especially with fellow stars Joel Embiid and Paul George also sidelined—the Sixers are prioritizing caution with this soft tissue injury. The team is currently struggling with a 1-6 record, their sole win being an overtime victory against the Indiana Pacers. Fortunately, George has recently returned from injury and should soon regain form to help fill Maxey’s void. Additionally, Embiid is expected to make his season debut next Tuesday against the New York Knicks. While not at full strength, having both George and Embiid back should offer some stability as the team navigates Maxey’s absence.

Garland pushes the Cavs to a 10-0 season start after win over the Warriors.
The Cleveland Cavaliers extended their perfect start to the season, overpowering the Golden State Warriors 136-117 on Friday to improve to 10-0. With an incredible 41-point lead at halftime and 83 first-half points—matching a franchise record—the Cavs handed the Warriors their first road loss and snapped their five-game win streak. Six Cavs scored in double figures, with Darius Garland contributing 27 points, Evan Mobley adding 23, and Ty Jerome scoring 20 off the bench. Cleveland’s high-powered offense posted their fifth 130-plus point game of the season, tying a team record. Cavs coach Kenny Atkinson praised his team’s intensity: “Ten-0 is a magic number. The way we came out tonight…that surprised me.” The Warriors tried to recover after halftime, with Jonathan Kuminga scoring 21 off the bench, but 13 first-half turnovers proved too much to overcome. Coach Steve Kerr admitted, “We were completely disorganized.” The Cavs are the first team in the NBA to start the season with 10 straight wins since 2015-2016 Warriors.

Bayern Munich set to sign talented forward, Bajung Darboe from LAFC.
Bundesliga Giants, Bayern Munich has signed 18-year-old U.S. youth international Bajung Darboe from LAFC for $1.5 million, with the forward set to move to Germany in January. Darboe, who initially trained with Bayern in 2022 and impressed the club, will now join permanently. The young forward has represented the U.S. U-17s in friendlies and signed his first pro contract with LAFC last year. This season, he made 14 appearances for LAFC’s second team in MLS Next Pro after spending 2022 with Philadelphia Union II.
