Sandro Tonali given another 2 month suspension for breaching betting rules.
Newcastle midfielder, Sandro Tonali has been subjected to another two-month ban from football after being found guilty of breaching the Football Association’s betting rules. The Italian international was charged with 50 cases of breaking of FA Rule E8, placing bets on matches between August 12, 2023 and October 12, 2023. Admitting these charges, he has received a two-month ban and also a £20,000 fine with a warning. This ban will be suspended for the whole of the 2024/2025 season, meaning he will be able to play for Newcastle after his initial ten-month ban is completed. The FA, in their statement, noted that “provided that he does not commit any further breach of the FA Betting Rule during the suspension period, Sandro will not serve any part of the two-month sanction.”
